Feel like I've aged by a few years just by dyeing my hair to black.

Well, not exactly black black, but still a bit brownish though. Getting ready for my new job, in case you still don't know, I'm starting work at Dior on Monday!

Gonna be like all so atas me, hahaha.. just kidding...

And on Monday it will be my first time wearing office wear to work! Can't imagine I also will have such a day lor.. sian... Well, hope everything will go smoothly for me, hope the black hair brings me luck!

Outing with Suwen, finally a day when we didn't bring the babies along!

Been at home with Tyler, don't want to go out, cause on a tight budget. Maybe I should start buying 4D liao, and pray for lady luck to smile on me.

Terrible moodswings lately, and patience is running low. Hate it when I'm like this. And something is worrying me, cause I find that I've been dropping quite a bit of hair lately, and somemore with the never gaining weight, guess have to find a day to see doctor le, see if worms are eating me up.

Just nice the YOG Torch run thing was gonna pass by the road infront of my house, so while Gordan's mom brought Tyler downstairs to watch it upclose, I snapped some pics from my corridor.

Police motorcycle means that they are getting near, so everyone getting ready and nearer to the road..

Lots of buses, guess to ferry the volunteers and supporters...

And the supporter's bus, with a whole lot of them on top, and also a DJ announcing their arrival from inside. The only good thing about it, nice music!

Torch look nothing amazing though, and I actually thought that should be a lot of people running together, cause imagine, won't the atmosphere be so much better if a lot of people are running together? Instead of lots of buses going around.. But well, interesting, since its my first time seeing it..

Back home, and it was Gordan's birthday that day. Actually intending to ask him to go to East Coast and probably have some quiet time spent there, but then he was tired, so I pretended to be busy, and while he was in the room with Tyler, I prepared the cake, lit the candle and off the light. Then I told him I wanna show him something and got him to come out, and that's when me and Tyler (ok, maybe me only) sang the birthday song for him!

Everything was just making me very mentally stressed out, and I don't want to always having my boss to compromise me.

Haiz, guess I'll have to look for another one then.

Been busy with work and spending time with Tyler and catching up on my rest. Finally found the time to blog, so here's some outdated pics!!

Work has been, well, busy. Colleagues are quite good to me, and there's always customer coming in so time passes quite quickly. Tyler fell sick on my 1st day of work. Seems like really every single time I start work he'll be sick. And he's the reason I've always put off working. Cause even though Gordan's mom is doing a OK job taking care of him, but its not really up to my standard. Half the time, I'm too tired or I closed one eye, thus I don't say much.

He's been becoming a little spoilt lately, like ignoring what I told him, not listening to instructions. Its only been a few days, I really can't imagine how it will be like in years to come. If only, I could just split myself into two, or maybe tio a big toto.

I could give Gordan's mom a schedule to follow, but seriously I won't know even if she don't follow right? And its hard to everytime explain nicely to her, when I'm dead tired after a long day at work, and still have to wake up early for work the next day.

Been so stressed up about things, that sometimes I hope that if only after I've finished work, I can only come home to Tyler, and not face anyone else. Cause everyone else just pissed me off, and makes me even more tired.

Enough about the passive things, I've got my new phone!

Nobody will ever know the real me, cause what they see is what I want them to see.

I've cut my hair!!

Ok, not really a lot lah, just the fringe part and sort of trimmed my sides. Had been feeling bored with my hairstyle, so need to do something about it.

And I did it myself!!

Spent like 1hr in the bathroom cutting my hair, getting hair into my eyes. But it was worth it! Cause I love my hair now~

This is the kinda length I've always wanted to cut, but every single time I attempted cutting bangs in salon, it always end up shorter, which seriously look hideous on me. Looking back, the last time I cut my fringe, I wonder why had I like that in the 1st place. It was so ugly!!!

Super looking forward to work tomorrow, cause even though I don't know much about all that, but because I don't know, it interest me more! Sort of like a challenge to me, hehe, I love challenges!!

And its like ritual that everytime the night before I start work, it will be super hard for me to go to bed. I'm those kind of people that if there's any event the next day, I'll keep thinking about it and won't be able to go to sleep. Let's hope I don't yawn too much tml..

Phedra's 3rd Birthday

I've been into taking bus lately, searched on Street Directory and turns out there is bus to Suntec! Phedra's birthday is gonna be at Conrad Hotel, which is just opposite Suntec.

But, I forgot its Saturday. I forgot that NDP is approaching.

So the roads were closed to Suntec, and we have to get off the bus earlier to walk all the way to Suntec. Tiring, but then, we got to see tanks on the way there. Yeah right, tanks on the road!!

Reached Suntec and went to search for a birthday gift for Phedra. Got a book for her, which unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of. Getting senile me?

Aunt and Grandma was there for a walk, so met up with them and they helped me with Tyler while I wrap up the present for Phedra. After which, we headed back to the hotel, and on the way, we passed by this!

Don't ask me what they are doing, just some NDP thing.

Reached the hotel, it was almost 530pm. Since Tyler's dinner time is not till 630pm, so decided to bring him for a swim!

The water was freaking cold, wonder why Tyler just doesn't seem to feel that lor.. And he was enjoying himself, sitting on the ledge and then jumping down to me, haha.. But then, something embarrassing happened! The bottom piece of my bikini started to come loose! ( Its those the 2 sides you have to tie one..) So I told Tyler to hold me tight, and went on to faster tighten the knots. Lucky, or else, they will see a bikini bottom floating by already..

After a quick swim, we went back to the hotel room, had a little bubble bath and got ready for dinner! Some pictures for you guys..

After dinner, its time to bring out the birthday cake!!

Seriously I find it a bit too adult like.. Kids should be like kids and have cute and pretty cakes right? With like probably "HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY PHEDRA!!" written super big on the cake..

My 1st cupcake!!

And by 1st, i meant edible and yummy! Was craving for Nutella the night before, so made the Nutella cupcakes!! Its crunchy on the top, like biscuit, and soft inside. Satisfied my craving, I'm a happy girl again!

Met up with Enling, supposingly to go cycle, but it was raining, so we change our plans and head to Tampines!

The roast duck and soup was alright, but the vegetables dishes sucks.. After dinner, got some groceries and headed back home. Gordan was at home, asked him whether he's going out, then keep telling me he's not sure. So in the end, got him to accompany me, and we went for supper downstairs. I've got a super ma fan bf!!

Since Gordan wants to drink, we went to the 7-11 and bought 3 cans of beer, and settled down playing cards!!

So teenager lor.. lol..

Although it wasn't much, but enjoyed whatever time I have with Gordan.. Dreading going back to work.. sobs..

Banana Pancake

The original recipe actually was Sweet Potato Pancakes, but since I have 1 last banana left dangling there so decided to use it! End result, it was so soft and yummy!

And I finally succeeded in my 1st steam egg!

Ok, its nothing amazing, but its hard to have a smooth surface for steam egg lor, unless you know the trick to it! And if you want to know, sift your egg mixture till its really smooth, and cover with clingwrap before steaming!

This is like the kong ba bao, you have to cut and put the flesh in between a bun and eat. Although I love fatty meat, but then this is a bit too much, cause its like melts in your mouth type, and I prefer those with more fragrance. But then Enling likes it though..

After dinner, we went for coffee session since there was still quite some time till our movie. Starbucks and TCC at Plaza Singapura was packed (which was where we are), so we walked all the way down to the TCC at Paradiz Center! But it was quite a cosy place though..

Watched 'Predator'. Find it quite draggy cause after 3/4 of the show, I was like 'there are still 6 people? When are they going to die?" But then, it was interesting though, cause I've never watched any Predator movie, except the Alien Vs Predator. Guess its time to search for Arnold's Version liao..

In case you haven't heard the news, I'm heading back to work! And I'm gonna work in Sasa, so if you happen to go Sasa buy anything, do come and support me ok? I'll be at Tampines One de though for now..

Can't bear, can't bear to leave Tyler, but then we really need the money. Kinda worried Tyler will be spoilt when I go work. Anyway, haven't start yet, don't know how things will turn out, or maybe how long I'll last again. So, just take it as it comes ba!

Since I've been into cooking, so I thought I should try baking too! Want to minimise damage incase I fail, so decided to make cupcakes, smaller quantity, even if fail also its ok. lol..

I don't have an oven at home, and Gordan's sis isn't in town too, so went over to my Grandma's place to borrow the oven!

Phedra was there to lend me a hand too!

It was so funny, cause she was coughing a bit and coughing into the mixture without covering her mouth! And halfway through, still dig her nose somemore.. I was telling my Grandma if eat already I start coughing then I know why liao.. hahhaahha...

But she's a great help though, and very good with instructions!

Since cake making isn't successful, I'll have to do other things to comfort myself right? So I did my Qing Teng Jelly!!

1st Cycling Trip w Tyler

You might have seen these pics earlier on when I posted them to Facebook, but well, just in case you haven't, here they are!!

Tyler was super funny, cause I wore his jacket for him, and put on the hood too. His jacket is kinda small size now, since he's already a big boy now, so the hood will drop sometimes when he anyhow turn his head. So Tyler decides that he'll hold the hood in place so it won't drop!

And he was doing that the whole time the hood was on his head!

Finally fetched Suwen and Enling, and we headed over to East Coast! Its been a long time since I last cycle, and seriously, I was feeling kinda nervous that day, cause too long never cycle and I still have to ferry Tyler, worry I'll fall and hurt him.

Enling was craving for this Japanese Ramen at Big Splash there, but then it only opens at 6pm, so in the end, we had our lunch at Old Town White Coffee. After lunch, its playtime for the kids..

Luckily everything was good, but just that stamina sucks only. Didn't bring cameras along, cause we didn't have a small bag to bring with us, so used Enling's Iphone to take some pics, which really sucks!

Computer is down again! Well, more like the internet is down for our laptop and currently only Gordan's dad's computer have internet, so I'm currently blogging this post from his com. Its quite a long story which I'm not gonna waste time and say it. But caused quite a bit of unhappiness for me.

Ramblings about Wedding

You know, in the beginning when I just started to plan for our wedding, I was so excited over everything. And I literally mean EVERYTHING. I just had so many so many ideas, and you can actually ask Gordan how many times I had told him about the change of the theme of the wedding.

But well, luckily its 1 year away, so when things starts to cool off, reality kicks in.

I guess every girl would dream of having a lavish wedding, if we had the ability. But then, do we really want all that?

There was a time when I was telling Gordan, I want this, I want that, but then I realized that all that matters to me about the wedding is the moment when I walk down the aisle and see Gordan waiting there for me, and us taking our vows, putting rings for each other. I only want the people who really mattered to us to be there, to witness the happiest day of our lives.

It doesn't matter if the gown is mermaid cut, tube or even if I'm wearing just a dress, because end of the day, what's most important is us, how much we love each other.

Seriously, we had even thought of going overseas and just getting married, the 2 of us. But then, I insisted that I want my family to be there so here we are.

And I'm trying not to wear a gown, cause its a poolside wedding and a gown just makes me feel a little too formal, plus I seriously won't want anyone stepping on it or risk staining or tearing it. So can anyone help? Where can I get a nice white long dress??

Had a huge quarrel with Gordan the other day, but we've made up and now we're better and sweeter than ever! And we realized that, probably we've been together too long, so our relationship became more of family rather than couple. In the process, we lost our courtesy, patience and passion with each other.

Happy that things have changed now, and recently I've been having the feeling like we were how we were 3 years ago. Sweet.

Cranky Tyler

Been cooking at home and trying out new recipes. Good thing for Tyler cause its mainly all for him.

I'm so in love with cooking lately and its all because of this website.

Basically all the recipes that I've tried from there has been delicious! And its easy to do too, cause the instruction is quite easy to understand. Really hope they could have more and more recipes.

Hasn't been in a very good mood, cause Tyler has been really really naughty.

I'm not gonna say he's cranky, cause sometimes I kinda suspect it isnt because of teething discomfort, but rather himself throwing tantrums. He's been into hitting people, throwing things around, easily cry, screaming, lying on the floor crying....

And its frustrating when this happens like 10 times a day. And I got injured by him too!

Just today, he was playing with the 100 plus bottle (filled with water), and I was blowing dry my hair. Then suddenly I felt a sharp pain and screamed out. Cause he threw the bottle and it landed exactly on my fourth toe. Which up until now, still hurts and I can't bend it.

And earlier on, when I was trying to make him sleep, he actually used his head to bang my chin. Hopefully that doesn't develop a blue black tomorrow.

And when I say its pain, its really damn fucking pain! Both times, I already felt like crying, and tears had automatically dropped. And it made me so irritated why Tyler had suddenly become like this.

At times, he'll show that he is not happy by slapping or kicking the wall, the floor, us, or using his head to bang the wall. He's THAT EXTREME. And I'm going crazy too, because of that.

Whether its teething or whatever other reasons, I just hope he can get over his tantrums soon. Cause if not, think I gonna get an armour soon.

Tried out making Lemon Cheesecake today, and its in the fridge now. Gonna try it tomorrow, and hopefully its nice! Spent like 3 hrs doing that, but enjoyed every moment. Realized that sometimes, cooking can help to relax your mind too.

Tomorrow I'm going to SG Flyer to buy the tickets for the Newspaper Big Walk 2010. Wanted to have some family activity with Gordan, and since its quite meaningful and healthy too, I decided to go for the Big Walk. Only downside is, it starts at 730am!! But well, don't do it everytime, just hope that Tyler doesn't throw a tantrum that day, and it doesn't rain!!

Hopefully there's no long queue tomorrow, and hopefully I'll be able to get the tickets!!

Tampines With Grandma, Aunt & Cousins

Wanted to bring Tyler over to my Grandma's place, but then they were out cause of the drilling noise at the construction site nearby. So decided to meet them at Tampines, since I've never really gone out with them before. Didn't bring Tyler along, cause night time gonna meet Gordan for movie, and 3 kids are gonna be hard to handle!

Day outing with them, feel that Phedra is really obedient, just that she has her own temper. But she really listens well if you will spend the time explain to her patiently. Love going out with Grandma they all, had a really fun day with them!

Caught 'Karate Kid', and we were wondering, where's the karate? But it was a nice show though. I find that its one of the best shows Jackie Chan had ever did, different side of him. And don't you find the chinese boy damn handsome?? Love his xia lan face.. haha..

How Much Milk Should A Toddler Drink?

I guess this question should have appeared in every parent's mind sometime, so decided to do a post on this. By the way, this post is for kids 1 year and above.

For some parents, they might feel that their child are still growing, and that they should drink plenty of milk still cause it has DHA, and blah blah whatever other stuff. Probably when the child don't eat as much, they feel that feeding the child more milk will solve the problem.

But in fact, they are wrong.

Ever had this when you're feeling very hungry, and you drink a glass of milk and suddenly you no longer have the appetite anymore?

That's how it is for kids too. Giving more milk than what they need is only going to make them cut back on their meals, which is also where their main nutrients are coming from.

So how much should they be drinking?

Check online and you'll have studies telling you that kids above 1 years old should be having AT LEAST 350MLS of milk a day, and AT MOST 600MLS.

Giving them too much milk, may cause them to eat lesser, meaning lesser nutrients, and a higher risk of iron deficiency.

Why is iron important?

Iron is essential for maintaining enough oxygen-carrying red blood cells. These red blood cells are necessary to fuel brain growth.

What is iron deficiency?

If a child does not get enough iron for a prolonged time, he can develop iron deficiency, a condition that limits the ability of the blood to carry oxygen. This can interfere with brain development, affecting a child's motor skills and ability to learn.

How to tell whether your child has iron deficiency?

Have a decreased appetite.

Be irritable, fussy and inattentive.

Be slower to reach development milestones.

Eat unusual things such as ice, dirt, clay and cornstarch.

**If you think that your child may have iron deficiency, consult your doctor. They would be able to do a test to determine that.

Meanwhile, to prevent all these, limit your child's milk intake, and have more iron rich food in his diet.

Foods that are a good source of iron include :

liver

lean red meats ( beef, pork, lamb )

seafood ( oysters, clams, tuna, salmon, and shrimp )

soy beans and lentils

iron fortified whole grains ( breads, rice, and pasta )

greens ( mustard greens, spinach, and turnip greens )

tofu

vegetable ( broccoli, asparagus, parsley, watercress, brussel sprouts)

chicken and turkey

egg yolks

dried fruits ( raisins, prunes, dates and apricots )

Of course, maybe your child is drinking more milk and he is fine, growing well, eating well. But as parents, we all want the best for our kids, and preventing them from developing health problems is an important thing that we can do. Remember, your child is no longer a baby anymore, just like us, they need to get enough nutrients from the food they eat, not just from the milk they drink.

You may try to give them orange juice, or kiwi, foods with lots of vitamin C cause it'll aid them in better absorption of iron.

Another reason I'm blogging about this is because the last few times I went over to my Grandma's place, my aunt has been saying that I should feed Tyler more milk, cause everytime Tyler sees my cousin's milk bottle he'll run away and try to drink from it.

Up to the extend, she asked my Grandma to give Tyler a bottle of milk when he goes over (which she didn't do so) and also joke about buying milk powder for Tyler's birthday.

But the truth is, Tyler is interested in the milk bottle. Not the milk. Cause he's been drinking from straw for quite long, and seeing the milk bottle just seems so interesting for him.

Tyler's schedule for meals:

10am - Drink 250mls of milk + a piece of bread

1pm - Lunch + Dessert

6pm - Dinner + Dessert

9pm - 250mls of milk

In between sometimes he'll have some bites of food we eat, or his biscuits or bread. And I find that its already sufficient for him. Because for him, at 19 months now, he's having almost an adult portion for his meal. And he's almost always having that big belly.

For Tyler, he loves food. If possible, he would eat 24 hrs. But balanced meal is what I want for him. And he's not exactly a skinny boy too.

So, no offence to my aunt, but thanks for your concern, Tyler is growing well and having enough food and I hope to maintain it that way.

Its our family day again, and we decided to go to Orchard this week, just nice to spend our vouchers (the ones we got at the wedding fair) at Orchard Central.

After lunch went to walk around and even though I have like $150 vouchers, I can't find anything to buy! (can you imagine that?) Not too many people at the shopping mall also, ended up only bought some makeups and a top. If you're looking to hang out in the weekends without too many people, you can go to Orchard Central lor.. Still got $70 left of vouchers, guess I'll have to go there again.. *sian*

Was feeling bored at home, so got Enling to accompany me out. She practically drag her ass out of bed to go out with me lor, such a good friend I have hor? lol.. Here's my little boy in his smart look today...

We headed to Tampines, since its been a while since I last went there, and near too! We went for lunch, then walked around window shopping. There's this new place, 'Icing House', at Tampines One Basement. And you can decorate your own cake there. We want to try that, but with Tyler around, its hard lor!! So got to wait for him to nap first, then we can do while he is sleeping. But dammit, he just was so active!! Ended up have to carry him and force him to sleep. But still, we got to do our cake!!!

Which unfortunately didn't fit, so we had to walk back to the store to exchange again.

Usually I will drink Mocha Ice Blended, and I asked Enling to buy that for me. But when she came back with the drink, there wasn't any whipped cream on top, so I was asking her about it. Took a sip, and it actually taste more chocolate than mocha lor.. So she took back to exchange with them. But then, when she came back, the drink was with whipped cream, but it still taste chocolate!! And I actually got Gordan to taste it after he came, and he says its chocolate too, so its not my tastebud problem ok?

Tyler's grandparents came and fetch him after that. Cause they were bringing him to Hard Rock Hotel, to look for their relative. See, my baby is more happening than me lor! Anyway, Gordan came, and the three of us went for dinner at Tampines One Food Court. There's this super famous Hokkien Mee store there, and we tried some of their dishes.

City Square Mall

Met up with Suwen and Enling, since its been quite long that the three of us went out together. As we're sick and tired of Tampines (you should know how often we go there), so we decided to go explore the new City Square Mall!

Check up online the night before, and its actually an eco mall, won whatever award for being the most family oriented shopping center too. And the most interesting thing is, their urinal don't use water one!! But well, unfortunately, I wasn't able to see that..

Supposed to bring Tyler along, but then it was raining, and bringing 2 babies (including Janelle) is abit hard to handle. So decided to leave him at home and meet the girls myself.

However, when I reach back home, Gordan was asking me am I sure I'm wearing the skirt cause it doesn't seem to be my style, well, I love to change my looks, so let's see how it looks when I wear it ba!

Been down lately, because of the crazy menses ( been 1 week plus and its still everyday a bit a bit), and because I'm trying to find a better way to discipline Tyler. And I don't find anyone helping me. So kinda stressed out by that. But just out of a sudden yesterday, I realised that maybe I've been too uptight about giving Tyler the best teaching. And also poor Gordan, I've been neglecting him ever since Tyler was born. So comes to the decision, its time for a change!!

Hopefully things will be better and hopefully Tyler will be more guai. By the way he surprised me today, he actually can complete his fish puzzle colour to colour!

And it dawns on me that, maybe some things he already learnt it, its just that he don't want to show it or use it or say it. So probably I shouldn't worry so much too, cause I know my Tyler will definitely be my pride!

Finally Gordan is free to take me out!! It seems like ages ago that we had some couple time together, or maybe to me at least. Left the car for Gordan's parents to bring Tyler out, and we took a bus to Orchard!!

Its been so long since I last went to Orchard, felt so sua ku lor! Think next time I should disguise myself as a tourist before going, hahaha... Its been a while since we caught a movie, so we headed to Cineleisure to get tickets. And I bought this damn cute drink!!

Its only Vitasoy but I just find the packaging so nice, so I bought it! And the words written there reminds me of the song 'Sorry Sorry'..

After movie, we went to 313 for a walk, Gordan was gonna meet his friend later on, so we only got a while to walk around. And we settled down at the basement there having some snacks!!

Tyler's cough is going off, at least he hasn't been vomiting these 2 days. Think gonna bring him for his jab end of this week ba, and then its confinement time again for us!! But I'm just glad now that he is getting better. And he's more ok with his Grandma now, which is good, cause then I'll be able to do my own things too!

Who says being a stay at home mom is boring? When you got such a cute and funny kid like mine, you won't be bored!!!!! Even though there may be the frustrating and worrying times, but seriously being able to grow up with Tyler is the best thing ever!!

See, they even had these toys for us, so cute!!

We went crazy playing with the lights and all, so funny!! And it wasn't expensive too, cost only around $16 plus per person, and you can have free flow the iced drinks!!

He's been real cranky lately about Gordan's mom taking care of him. And it isn't helping that Gordan's mom is not understanding that the more she scolds him the more he hates her. Guess I really got to work on that lately, improving their relationship together.

But for now, at least Tyler still listens to me a lot.. lol...
