Taxi Drivers
They drive around the whole day, ferrying passengers around Singapore. You see them on the streets wherever you go, red, yellow, silver, blue. Everytime we read on the newspapers how hard business is for them, how difficult it is for them to earn. Is that really happening??

Taxi fare, it just keeps going up and up. I still remember when I was young, when we take cab,

Me : (Before getting on cab) Uncle, Tampines to Bedok how much?
Taxi Driver : Orh, $7 lor.

Meters don't exist then, so that's the only way. Sounds like now when you go Bangkok take a cab they are like this right?

So even if they cheat us a few more dollars we also don't know right? But situation doesn't change even with meter around now

Sometimes when I take a cab around, maybe the fare is $6.40. But the uncle will just tell me the fare is $6.50. Ok, I don't mind giving him the 10cents. But its shown on the meter yet you round it off for me?? And it won't be worth being complained over 10cents right?

And then there are those that goes the longest way possible to reach your destination.
Maybe there are people who had complained thats why now most of the taxi drivers i met, they'll ask you which way would you want to go. It just seem illogical to be in the cab for half an hour if I'm going somewhere nearby...

There are some others that I hate just because they tends to show their attitude to you. Hello, where's the customer service?? Usually I will try to prevent giving taxi drivers $50 if the fare is going to be $10 and below. But sometimes if you really don't have change, you got no choice right?

Once, I was helping Enqi move things back from her ex bf place. The cab fare was about $4 plus. But knowing Enqi, usually she don't have small change. So she gave the taxi driver $50. Usually the taxi drivers I encounter they will say, " Do you have any small change?" or "Sorry but I don't have change." Something like that. But that day that uncle was the LIMIT. He said, " Wa, You don't have smaller note ar, cab fare $4 you give me $50." And the thing is he wasn't joking. Or rather he didn't sound like it. For a moment, I thought is I hear wrongly. Then Enqi's ex bf paid him $10 then confront him about what he said. Seriously its damn rude la. No money we can't take cab, don't tell me don't have small notes also cannot take cab ar? And the taxi driver still thinks he said nothing wrong and even quarrelled with us.

And then there was that day, I was coming back home from Gordan's place. I had wanted to go to East Point to get something for lunch. So naturally approaching there then I told the uncle, " You can stop at the bus stop infront of the shopping center."
Guess what the uncle told me, " Orh ok. That one is East Point la, what shopping center shopping center." Then when he was stopping he was still saying like here cannot stop there cannot stop. Hello, The whole stretch of road you can't stop lor. Then why not you just faster drop me off and get lost? And please lor, I also know that one is East Point, but ain't that a shopping center too? I almost felt like throwing my money at him!!

There are also the talkative ones. Of course I'm not saying that they can't talk to customers. But can you please observe the reactions your passengers are having when you want to talk to them? Sometimes I really don't want to talk too much, yet the uncle will just go on and on and on. Its irritating, especially when you are not in the best of mood.

Anyone reading the papers should know that taxi drivers are complaining they are not having as much passengers as the past right? Then how come its still so difficult to get a cab nowadays? And there is still places that they don't go?

I went clubbing that time and i was going to meet Gordan and his friends for supper at Geylang. So me, Suwen and Enqi shared a cab together. So they can drop me off at Geylang and go to Bedok. The uncle had said ok when I told him the the places we want to go. But when we got on the cab, the uncle ask me which part of geylang. Then I told him lorong 9 or something like that. Then he was saying, " There cannot, will jam." I was like, wtf a jam over there at 3am?? And Geylang is not very big lor. If you think there is a jam and you don't want to go there then you shouldn't have tell me ok in the 1st place. I told Gordan about it and even he also say, what jam you want at 3am?

Despite saying so many wrongdoings of taxi drivers, of course they are just the black sheeps. There are really nice uncles too. So I still don't mind taking cab around. Or else think I also go take bus liao... hahha.. Anyway just a post on my thoughts of taxi drivers, please do not think that everyone is like that hor, because they also have to work hard to earn a living too...

So support them, take cab. Bad taxi drivers, complain them!!
Remember that I mentioned I was going to have steak yesterday????

Of course its delicious. And I couldn't even finish everything. Cause its HUGE!!!!!

Alright, REVIEW TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brewerkz

Venue : Riverside Point

Its my 3rd time there liao. Basically what I love most about the place is of course the steak!!!

Its not exactly cheap there but its also not very expensive. A meal for 2 person will probably cost you about $100 over. But its very very worth it!!

There's not much selection though on some dishes. Like, if you like to drink soup, there is only 2 kinds. 1 is dunno what creamy beer dunno what soup (which sounds disgusting, so I didnt try), 2nd one is soup of the day. Usually I don't really know what soup is it that they have for soup of the day, but to tell the truth, its quite nice actually. Don't worry, it doesn't taste weird or anything.

Steaks wise, they also only have 2 choices. New york steak, which is sirloin. And ribeye steak. The 1st time I went I had ribeye and I felt that its was a little too much. Cause the steak is really DAMN thick. The 2nd time I went I tried the New york steak. Which after eating that 2 hrs later I'm hungry again. So, if you're thinking that you are VERY VERY hungry, then get the ribeye. If not den just settle with New york steak. Anyway both of them are nice. Cause usually I have my steak medium. And they can really cook it to what I wanted. (Unlike that time when I went to Jack's Place

Nightmare : I went to Jack's Place at Marina Square to have dinner. And I ordered the steak and my friend ordered something prawn or seafood de. Then we also ordered salad, soup and another dish which I don't remember. In the end we waited damn long for the main courses. (When there wasn't much customers left in the restaurant.) And eventually when the food came, we were starving! But when I cut into the steak, the insides were raw!!!! Ok, mostly even if I order medium the insides should be warm and a little bloody. But that time the insides were totally cold and red. I was like wondering, you took so long to cook it yet its still raw?? And my friend's seafood was undercooked too.. So basically that's my last experience with Jack's Place.

Ok back to Brewerkz. There are a lot of other main courses also and desserts. And most popular over there is their beer. I've never tried before, since now I can't drink. But heard from my friend that its warm beer that they actually brew themselves. Seriously looking at their menu at their varieties of beer I already feel very headache already, cause there is really too many choices... hahaha...

Its a good place to chill out over there and one more thing, its a damn big restaurant!!! So, try it out when you have the time....

Last but not least, THANKS to the FRIEND for the dinner.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY DEAR!!!!

Today is my Mr Gordan's birthday. But no, he's not spending it with me. He's spending it with his favourite, BASKETBALL!!!!

Yesterday we headed out though.. Just for a simple dinner at DIN TAI FUNG. Cause I miss the xiao long bao there. Haha, like my birthday like that right. Anyway Gordan had never went to DIN TAI FUNG before, can you believe it??

But I also rarely go there. The xiao long bao there is really the most recommended dish you should try. Other than that the other dishes is quite normal...

After dinner we went to arcade play game a while. But the newly renovated arcade was like totally boring lor. They don't even have puzzle bubble. By the way we were at Tampines Mall. So we just had to make do with the games there and try to faster finish all the tokens. So, if you want to go to arcade, please don't go Tampines one. ITS BORING!!!

Later on we went to Simpang Bedok with his friends. They actually play MOVIES at the coffeeshop lor. Iron man, Forbidden Kingdom all that... So clever la... I was telling Gordan next time if we're too bored can go there watch movie.. Haha...

I didn't really take any pictures yest cause I kinda forgot about it. Ha ha.. Actually did a card wanted to give Gordan de but I forgot to bring it out. Guess I'll give him tonight ba.. Alright later going out for dinner with my friend... Will be having steak!! Will post the review here again...

We finally went to watch THE DARK KNIGHT yesterday....

Actually we were thinking want to watch THE RED CLIFF or THE MUMMY or THE DARK KNIGHT. End up we chose batman because:

THE RED CLIFF - chinese movie, vcd will be out soon. plus, its only the part 1.

THE MUMMY - Its not out yet.

::::::Review::::::

Lots of action. But feels like watching a 3 hr movie. Although its only 153 minutes.
The Batman is alright ba but not very amazing. I kept thinking is his cape going to get stuck in his bike tires ma... Haha.. And the girl is also not very pretty also. But very nice twist to the story..
The Joker is a bit funny though. The things that he says. But the things he do is real sick lah.. But overall watching the movie I don't feel like watching a action hero movie, feels more like watching CSI or Bone Collector type.. By the way, the guy who acted The Joker is pretty convincing la.. And he's not around liao, so let's just pay a little respect to him.

Heath Andrew Ledger
(4th April 1979 - 22nd January 2008)

I'm no big fan of him though, but its really a pity he died when he was still so young.... I read from papers that loads of critics are praising him for his acting in THE DARK KNIGHT. So its a waste, really. Hope that he rest in peace.

After movie, we went back home. Since got nothing to do also. But we went out for supper later in the night. Went to katong there for the Chai Chee Bak Chor Mee. Actually I don't really find it nice lor. The chilli also don't have taste and its not salty enough, the noodles sucks.. So ya, its because we don't know what to eat. But we saw a guy there, ate 2 bowls of the noodles and even da bao 1 packet home. Guess he must have starve for a long time liao...haha

Hmm.... I'm missing Gordan now.. Don't know what he doing also.. Alright, gonna sign off for today.. ta ta........

Happiness

I'm sick today!!! Guess must be because yesterday sitting in the cold and waiting for him...

Anyway, not going to say much today. Just posting something I've written a LONG LONG time ago....

HAPPINESS

We convince ourselves that life will be better after we get married, have a baby, then another.

Then we are frustrated that the kids aren't enough and we'll be more contented when they are.

After that we are frustrated that we have teenagers to deal with. We will certainly be happy when they are out of that stage.

We tell ourselves that our life will be complete when our spouse gets his or her acts together, when we get a nicer car, are able to go on a nice vacation, when we retire.

The truth is, theres no better time to be happy than right now.
If not now, when?

Your life will ALWAYS
be filled with challenges. It's best to admit this to yourself and decided to be happy anyway.

One of my favourite quotes comes from Alfred D Souza. He said,

" For a long time, it had seemed to me that life was about to begin - real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life."

This perspective has helped me to see that there is no way to happiness.

HAPPINESS IS THE WAY.

So, reassure every moment that you have. And treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time, and remember that TIME WAITS FOR NO ONE.

So stop waiting until you finish school, until you go back to school, until you lose ten pounds, until you gain ten pounds, until you have kids, until your kids leave the house, until you start work, until you retire, until you get married, until you get divorced, until Friday night, until Sunday morning, until you get a new car or home, until your car or home is paid off, until spring, until summer, until fall, until winter, until the first or fifteenth, until your songs comes on, until you've had a drink, until you sobered up, until you die, until you are born again to decide that there's no better time than right now to be happy.

Happiness is a journey not a destination.

WORK LIKE YOU DON'T NEED THE MONEY.

LOVE LIKE YOU'VE NEVER BEEN HURT.

AND DANCE LIKE NO ONE'S WATCHING.

Jun En

I'M MISSING HIM AGAIN.......

Who is this cute little boy?
That is my most beloved son, Jun En.

To my Dearest,

Time had pass by so fast. Now you're running around and making faces at everyone. Yet I could not be with you to witness this.

I'll always remember you lying in my arms, using your big and round eyes looking at me, and the sweet smile that always warms my heart. I must admit, I do not have the courage to visit you anymore. Because the warmth in your eyes is no longer there for me. I am a stranger to you now eventhough we had cried together, laugh together and held on to each other before.

That hurt is something that I am not strong enough to bear. And I choose to avoid it. I tried not to look at your photos as whenever I do so I can't help but tear. But knowing you are growing up well makes my hurt easier to bear.

You're going to be 3 this year. You know, everytime I sees other kids running around they always reminds me of you. I haven't even heard you talk before.

I'm really afraid that you'll hate me. Although its something that I've long expected to come. I want you to know that I didn't want to lose you. But I don't have a choice. Or rather he didn't give me a choice. Not that I didn't want to see you again but because they want to get me out of your life.

All I ever wanted was to hug you and hear you calling me...

My little one, whether or not I'll see you again, I'll always be praying for you, hoping you get the best of everything in life and manage your own fate in your hands. I love you.

Jul 17, 2008

My 1st post!

I'm finally 5 months pregnant!!

So that means we have only 4 more months
to go!!

Which is 19 weeks, which is 136 days!!

After which i'll be cut off from this world and be a yellow face auntie at home liao...

Having pee pee, milk, vomit all over me. Messy hair, screaming at the kid and chasing him around... Then wait for husband to come home and simply nag at him about the home allowance not being enough, how tired i am looking after the kid at home and why he was late 1 minute getting home.....

I'm kidding!!!!!

Having a kid ain't that bad ok? I will still be a pretty mom despite maybe the occasional pee pee and vomits... And its not hard to do so either.

At least because I believe a woman should still pamper herself even after having kids.

Remember:

"There's no ugly woman in this world, only LAZY woman."

By the way, if you're still wondering whether my baby is a boy or girl, don't wonder anymore!!

IT'S A BOY!!!

IT'S A BOY!!!

IT'S A BOY!!!

Anyway, there is something that I really, really have to vent it out. Because it is really starting to get on my nerves.

WHY IS IT A MUST TO GET MARRIED WHEN YOU ARE PREGNANT ??

A.I don't know its just what people says.
B.
He is already the father of my child, its only natural that I marry him.
C. I don't want to be a single mom.
D. I want my child to grow up in a normal family.

In my opinion, marriage and having a baby is 2 totally different things. You don't get married because you have a baby.
And it doesn't make your baby any less normal just because you are a single mom or you are not married.

I, myself, have gone through a divorce because of that reason. And I believe nowadays quite a lot of ladies had gone through it too.

That is why I strongly think that you only get married when you feel that :

  • He is really the one for you

  • He treats you well

  • You're happy being with him

  • You can spend the rest of your life with him.

Of course I'm not saying that you should have an abortion. And I'm totally against that.

Marriage is about your happiness,so please consider carefully!!

I'm having varicose veins now on my leg, and it hurts!!

And somemore because I only got it on one side, its damn ugly lah!

Hopefully it will be gone after I give birth, I don't want to be having them till I'm old!!

Here's a pic to let you see what it looks like:

(Warning: Might be disgusting for some of you)

For anyone who has it,
Doctor says: Try not to walk too much and wear stockings.

It does helps a bit and what my grandma says was try not to rub it. Or it will stay there forever!!! Don't know whether is it true but I rather believe it!!

Lots of things I want to write about, but I wouldn't want this first post to be so uber damn long. (ok, its already quite long.)

.............Damn, I'm long-winded.
